What kinds of medical treatments were used to heal black death patients?

OpenStudy (deving7240):

Is it multiple choice?

Bleeding was the main method of treatment. They thought the patients blood was diseased. So to 'rid' the disease.. they would cut the patients arm so the patient's heart would make new 'pure' blood. Many people died this way (bled to death) Sometimes they used leeches. Also, this is very important, all the patients clothes were burned, and all their bed sheets were burned to 'rid' the disease from spreading. Dead bodies were either buried far away or burned. There were also lancings, where doctors/people/family members would cut open the wounds and then apply an ointment made of herbs, white lilies, and human excrement.
