Hey, I am wondering the most effective way in learning by myself. I usually struggle with each problem set for 2~3 hours but do not get very far by myself yet. Then, I look at the solution, understand the code and debug my codes based on the solution. I sometimes rewrite my entire code since it doesn't make sense afterward. Am I doing it right?

Yes everyone here ask me to do the same..

IMO, one of the biggest "tricks" to programming is: keep breaking the problem down until you're basically forced to write code. If I'd ever do that, I'd save myself so many headaches! If you've started to do functions, I've gotten good results by writing the comments of my functions before I even declare my function.
