Find the remainder when f(x) is divided by (x-k): F(x)=4x^3-8x^2-6x+18, k=-2

Nnesha (nnesha):

replace k by -2 (x- k) <--- and then solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is probably really easy but I'm still confused....

geerky42 (geerky42):

Do you know Long Division?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know simple long division but my teacher didn't teach us how to divide with exponents.

Nnesha (nnesha):

well you just need reminder right so (x-(-2)=0 solve for x and plug in x value into f(x)

Nnesha (nnesha):

(x-(-2))=0 x= ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with this process

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please someone I just need an answer I keep trying but the answers I'm getting just arent right.

Nnesha (nnesha):

what did you get ? show your work so it will take less time to correct that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's not the purpose of us trying to help you..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We don't just give out the answer, sorry!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not going to type out all my work on here. And people have given me answers on here every time I've asked. They show me the work and seeing how to get the answer through the work they give me helps me learn because I know that the answer they give is correct, rather than me just blindly guessing.
