A pair of equations is shown below: y = 2x − 1 y = 4x − 5 Part A: In your own words, explain how you can solve the pair of equations graphically. Write the slope and y-intercept for each equation that you will plot on the graph to solve the equations. (6 points) Part B: What is the solution to the pair of equations? (4 points)

That's a very rough sketch. But the idea is to graph both of the equations, and find where they intersect. That point of intersection is a solution to both equations.
i dont get it
@unknownunknown
Okay so. Let's just start with one of the equations. y = 2x - 1. Can you graph that equation for me, by itself?
m=2,b=−1 where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

I'm hoping OS doesn't kick me off again... if you don't see a response that is why. OS hates Firefox
oo okay
can you help me on this one though
sure. so we are solving a pair of equations using the graphing method. What you need to do is to graph each equation separately on the same sheet of paper . letting x be any value so you can find out what y is. The answer is when both equations share the same point.
So Christian that's good you know m and b. And now the next step is to visualize them geometrically. So could you plot the graph for me, of y = 2x - 1?
with a chart.. x y = 2x -1 0 2(0)- 1 -> 0-1 = -1
let x be any value from x =0 to x = 3 and we plug it into the y =2x-1 to figure out what our y is.. then we have a point . Fore example, when x = 0, y =-1 so our coordinate point is (0,-1)
okay so what do i do next ? after that
you have to do the same thing with the other equation
m=4,b=−5
so (4,-5)
no no no for y = 4x-5. let x = 0,1,2,3...... find the y values and plot them.. sorry I am freezing bad again with OS
its okay and i have to write this in words
its a question essay
i just need help on how to type it
Christians that's fine, but to understand it so you can write it in words, you should do as UsukiDoll is suggesting, and graph it first. Once you do that and can see what's happening, it will be very easy to explain it in words.
blame OS it just kicked me out of this question T_T
</3
whatever its okay guys
