Calculate the area of triangle ABC with altitude CD given A (6, -2), B (1,3), C (5,5), and D (2,2)
12 square units 13 square units 14 square units 15 square units

Based on my calculations I though it was 13 units
thought not though
Formula for the area of a triangle is 1/2bh. Do you have any diagrams for this? IF not then I'll assum it will look like this:|dw:1433175385799:dw| First thing you have to do is find the length of of the base, which is the length of AB Then find the height/altitude, which is the length of CD Calculate the lengths using the distance formula. Then after you find the value, apply the the formula for the area. Give me a sec. I'll try to solve it also and I'll tell you if we get the same thing.
OK thanks. I just keep getting the same result...
I get a different answer. hmm.. can you tell me what did you get for the length of AB?
I just calculated the triangle and multiplied the volume against the length of it and I keep getting the same result.@Data_LG2
@Data_LG2 I suck at math AND I AM SHERLOCK HOLMES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD
i REALLY WISH SOMEONE WOULD ANSWER! I feel like I am in the math-twilight zone :(:::::
sorry late response.. do you know the distance formula?
Sort of...
