finding the degree of a polynomial isn't really that hard...the degree of the polynomial is just is just the which of the variables has the largest exponent quantity, so for this equation xy^2 + 3xy – 7 + y, 2 is the biggest exponent so this polynomial is a second degree polynomial

they want you to rearrange the terms in the expression so its in decreasing order...2x^2 – 4x^4 + 3 + 6x, so it would look like this... 3+6x+2x^2-4x^4
