how to write 0.123333..... as a fraction and a ratio I will fan and give medal plz help me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero

hero (hero):

Give me a min.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

hero (hero):

Okay, so what you're supposed to do is this: Let x = 0.123333...

hero (hero):

Then multiply both sides of that by 100 to get 100x = 12.3333...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

hero (hero):

Then take x = 0.123333.... and multiply both sides by 1000, so you have 1000x = 123.3333....

hero (hero):

Then subtract 1000x - 100x in the following manner: 1000x = 123.3333... -100x = 12.3333... ____________________ 900x = 111.0000...

hero (hero):

You can basically re-write it simply as 900x = 111 Then you continue solving for x by dividing both sides by 900.

hero (hero):

If you're confused about anything let me know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks soo much for your help

hero (hero):

You're welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just trying to keep you honest is all multiply by ten, then subtract

hero (hero):

You always show up right after I answer a question

hero (hero):

@mia454 Take 900x = 111 Divide both sides by 900. You should end up with a fraction afterwards.

hero (hero):

Let me know what you get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 8.1081108...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i divided 900 by 111

hero (hero):

You should have gotten x = 111/900

hero (hero):

You divided the wrong way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah i am so dum i was not paying attention

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 0.1233333333

hero (hero):

Yes, but 111/900 is the fraction you want.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok so the fraction is 111/900

hero (hero):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hero (hero):

The fraction is a ratio
