my question is that sodium react with specific organic compound. what are these compounds
Wurtz Fittg reaction (HaloArene) bromobenzene + methyl bromide + 2sodium \(\rightarrow\) toluene + 2sodium bromide (catalyst : dry ether) Wurtz reaction(Haloalkane) 2methyl bromide + 2soduim \(\rightarrow\) ethane + soduim iodide (catalyst: dry ether) Well there are many reactions :)
Sodium can react with alcohols to form alcoxides. Na + CH3CH2OH -> -OCH2CH3 Na+ ethanol ethoxide ion
