How does Heterochromatin move to its neighbouring protein coding genes and silence it?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

the decoration of histones with non-polar groups, e.g. methylation, cause a segment of DNA to become hydrophobic and fold to minimize it's contact with water. This folding prevents complexes from physically accessing the genes.
