Chaucer uses specific details to describe individual characters in the "general prologue" to The Canterbury Tales. The tales that the characters choose to tell reflect their true selves. Chaucer draws on the ( class, estates, noble, peasants) satire prevalent in his time to bring out the traits of the different classes of society. He uses the technique of ( frame, skeleton, fable, folk) story to hold his narrative together.
