Which expression represents the value of 5 nickels and x dimes? 10x + 5 5(5) + 10x 5x + 10x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First of all we know that a nickel equals 5 cents and a dime equals 10 cents so since there are 5 nickels we start out with 5*5 because there are 5 nickels that each equal 5 cents. The. We move on to dime so all we know is that there are x amount of dimes that each equal 10 cent so the equation for that would be 10x. Now just put those to together to be 5(5) + 10x
