How does overfishing increase the growth of the whale population?

Shouldn't it be the other way around?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
since whales primarily eat fish, you would think that overfishing would decrease growth of the whale population. I can't think of any situations where overfishing would actually increase population of whales.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Because less fish eat plankton so more for the whales?
