how many possible out comes are there when a standard number cube (or die) is rolled 3 times?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, 6 numbers can be found on a standard dice. So, how many outcomes do you think there could be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

216 total outcomes

@iCake Your not really supposed to give out the exact answer, supposed to help them find it, but i agree 100%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 x 6 x 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i got 720 ohh i was doing 6!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because, 6 numbers are on a typical die. And, you can get a variety of combinations (Ex: 254, 265, etc.) so, you multiply 6 x 6 x 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, there are 6 faces on a die and you roll it three times. 6*6*6 = 216

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol that so easy sorry i was doing it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its okay :) The important thing is that you learned how to do it and found your mistake :)
