The graph shows the progress of two cyclists. Which answer choice shows the rates for each cyclist? A. Cyclist 1: 15 ft/s and Cyclist 2: 12 ft/s B. Cyclist 1: 10 ft/s and Cyclist 2: 12 ft/s C. Cyclist 1: 10 ft/s and Cyclist 2: 15 ft/s D. Cyclist 1: 12 ft/s and Cyclist 2: 10 ft/s I think B

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

attach graph?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

B is right :)

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Since cyclist 1 goes 20 feet in 2 seconds, this ratio can be simplified to 10 feet in 1 sec. then cyclist two goes 60 feet in 5 seconds. Although this ratio is slightly trickier to solve, if you divide 60 by 5, you get 12. therefore, for every one second, cyclist 2 travels 12 feet in 1 sec. Hope this explanation made sense! Well done :) @Foxythepirate0984

OpenStudy (foxythepirate0984):

so its B?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

yes.
