OpenStudy (lulubj):

is the following shape a square?How do you know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its not a square.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A square has all equal sides. the top is only 4, while the one side i counted is 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is 4 units by 5 units. in order for it to be a square it would need to be 4 units by 4 units or 5 units by 5 units etc.

OpenStudy (lulubj):

thats what i was thinking bc the sides are not congruent right?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Yes, that's correct. when you count down from Point B to Point A, there's 5 units of space. but when you count right from C to B, there are 4 units. In order for any figure to be a square, all sides must be congruent @lulubj you're correct :)

OpenStudy (lulubj):

Thank you (;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Interesting! I didn't realize that before.
