How much money does a person spend at Sterbucks per visit? The amount is a normally distributed random variable with a mean of $8.50 and a standard deviation of $1.25 a) Find the probability that a random person spends more than $11

ANSWER IS !!!chicken!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A normally distributed graph is bell shaped and has 68% of the data normally show up within one standard deviation of the mean. 95% within two standard deviations of the mean, and 97.7% within 3 standard deviations. To find the probability of spending more than 11 dollars you need to find the probability to find how many standard deviations (1.25) away from the mean (8.5) is 11. (2). And then find the probability of being over 2 standard deviations away from the mean.

The answer is a decimal point in case you were wondering.
