Which ordered pairs are solutions to the equation? y = 2x + 5 A. (5, 15) and (9, 2) B. (5, 10) and (2, 9) C. (15, 5) and (2, 9) D. (5, 15) and (2, 9)

pooja195 (pooja195):

Plug in each coordinate (from the answers) and see what is true.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

A little reasoning will save you some arithmetic. If \[y=2x+5\]\(y\) is always going to be much larger than \(x\) if \(x\) is a positive number. You can ignore any answer choices where that is not true.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

@shazmavek the OpenStudy policy is to guide the student, not give them the answer.
