F(x)= 3sin(2x) Can someone help me find these and explain how they did it. Will FAN and MEDAL! domain: range: even/odd: symmetric about: x intercepts: y intercepts:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know the meaning of all this? domain: range: even/odd: symmetric about: x intercepts: y intercepts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I did it during the beginning of the semester but I dont really remember them now @myko

OpenStudy (anonymous):

domain is the all possible x values that your function can take range is the y values that function will get if youn plug all possible x from the domain function is even if f(x)=f(-x). Or to say it in words, it has symetrical left and right sides function is odd if f(-x)=-f(x). For example the graph of \(f(x)=x^3\) x-intercepts is where it crosses x axis y- intercepts is where it crosses y axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do you think the domain of this function is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2, infinity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really. It will be all real numbers. Ok with that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could plug any x in there, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nothing stops you from doing it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no think about range. You know how the sin(x) function looks like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1433319560083:dw| Something like this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1433319676529:dw| so you see, it goes from 1 to -1 and so on. Never get higher or lower than that. So it's range will be [-1,1], right? Now what about your function. It is multiplied by 3 right?
