OpenStudy (anonymous):

Iron & Copper wires are both needed i think and i wont say which but one is North and the other is South (magnetic poles) i think...

I need to know that why iron and copper wires both are used. Why aren't both of them made up of iron or why aren't both of them made up of copper

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

you know that heat produces a voltage drop across a metal in the same way as you get a temp gradient from hot end to cold end. if you used similar materials for both, you would get the same voltage drop at the other (measuring ) end.

I see... Thanks a lot
