Okay, do the parenthesis first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-0.9

OpenStudy (igreen):

Correct, that gives us: \(\sf -4.5[2x - 0.9]\) Now distribute -4.5 into the parenthesis..do you know how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No lol :D

OpenStudy (igreen):

I just made another mistake..lol. It would actually give us: \(\sf -4.5[2x - (-0.9)]\) Or \(\sf -4.5[2x + 0.9]\)

OpenStudy (igreen):

Okay, when we distribute, we take the number outside of the parenthesis and multiply it to everything inside the parenthesis.

OpenStudy (igreen):

So \(\sf -4.5[2x + 0.9]\) becomes \(\sf (-4.5 \cdot 2x) + (-4.5 \cdot 0.9)\) Can you simplify that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes on second
