Generally when you are doing a linear approximation you want the line to touch or be as close to as possible the graph or points in the graph to get a better approximation

Just do a linear approximation of the slope, you should notice that inbetween the 18th and 21st months the graph is almost linear thus just use the two end points of the line in the formula for the slope of a line slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2-x1)
