NEED HELP ASAP!!!!! Simplify: 21. (-y + 4)(2y - 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there multiple choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. A. 2y^2 + 7y + 3 B. 2y^2 + 5y - 4 C. -2y^2 + 9y - 4 D. -2y^2 + 6y + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, what I usually do is I replace the "y" with a number (5 usually). Then I solve the problem and the multiple choices. If one of the multiple choices matches the problem then that is the answer. If that is too confusing then I will explain it better. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Write down the problem on paper, but replace the "y" with the number 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-5 + 4)(2*5 - 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good! Now I believe you can solve this, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really. Having to do three things at once. But would the answer be C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will check.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, the answer is C. Great Job!! :)
