Inverse of a function help

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Do I not just plug in -273.15 to 9/5 (that number)+32?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Hum, or do I have that backwards? Isnt the inverse 9/5 (-273.15+32)?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

forget about the -273.15 just "solve for C" do you know how to do that ?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

You mean solve for C from the original formula given?

OpenStudy (phi):

Yes. But if you look at all the answer choices, they show the same formula for C (which means if they did not make a mistake, that is the inverse) (and they did it correctly)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

phi why do you have the purple thing o you and how (im new here soo yeah)

OpenStudy (phi):

what is different is what is the coldest F value? to find out, use the original equation and "plug in" -273.15 for C and figure out F

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

That is 523.67

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

No, its -459.67

OpenStudy (phi):

-459.67 looks good. which choice is that ?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

A. Thank you.
