Please help!!! Medal!! What factors affect the speed of radioactive decay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The chemical environment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The radioactive decay modes of electron capture and internal conversion are slightly sensitive to chemical and environmental effects that change the electronic makeup an atom, which affects the presence of 1s and 2s electrons that participate in the decay process. A small number of mostly light nuclides are affected. This means that the chemicals in the environment determine and dictate the rate.
