FAN AND MEDAL TO WHOEVER CAN HELP ME BEST Can someone walk me through this.. A sandbag was thrown downward from a building. The function f(t) = -16t^2 - 32t + 384 shows the height f(t), in feet, of the sandbag after t seconds: Part A: Factor the function f(t) and use the factors to interpret the meaning of the x-intercept of the function. (4 points) Part B: Complete the square of the expression for f(x) to determine the vertex of the graph of f(x). Would this be a maximum or minimum on the graph? (4 points) Part C: Use your answer in part B to determine the axis of symmetry for f(x)? (2 points)

Can someone please work this through with me so I can understand it??

Did you factor it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't really get how to factor this particular equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-16 is a common factor so we can pull it out. f(t) = -16(t² + 2t - 24) Can you factor from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did that part but would I factor by grouping or...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't need to do it by grouping. This is where you look for 2 numbers that add up to 2 and multiply to -24. Then you put them in separate parentheses with "t"
