OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Which is true about the volume or surface area of these prisms? A. The surface area of B is greater than the surface area of A. B. The volume of A is greater than the volume of B. C. The surface area of A is greater than the surface area of B. D. The volume of B is greater than the volume of A.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@jabez177 last question. :) then bedtime :D

jabez177 (jabez177):

Basically calculate the surface area of both of the prisms then calculate the volume of both of them and compare.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

can you tell me what the surface area is again, please. :3

jabez177 (jabez177):

Lol. I don't know. :P Let me google it.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

okay.

jabez177 (jabez177):

Watch that... That should help you. :)

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Thanks.

jabez177 (jabez177):

No problem! :)

jabez177 (jabez177):

I can't watch that because I still have my Semester assessment to do. I'm working on it right now...

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Oh, i'm so sorry to disturb you. :( I will try my best to do this from what you have given me, i really appreciate your help, so much.

jabez177 (jabez177):

Sure! You're not disturbing me though. I love helping people! :)

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Okay. :)

jabez177 (jabez177):

What's the formula? Maybe I can try and help.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Hope this kind of helps, i took a screenshot of the link you gave me.

jabez177 (jabez177):

OKAY! Got it!

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

okay, i already finished the surface area for the second rectangle (yes i started with the second one) i dont know if it is right beacause the B is kind of messing me up but yeah|dw:1433397479093:dw|

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

while your looking at that ill do the first long and slend rectangle

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@jabez177

jabez177 (jabez177):

She multiplied it by 2 because there are two pares of the same squares or rectangles.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

right that were the same on the other sides but B is just making it harder

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

|dw:1433397865916:dw|

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Yeah, i don't know if i did this right.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@SyedMohammed98 @jim_thompson5910 @Luigi0210 @Agl202

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

omg my brains are fried

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@pooja195

OpenStudy (agl202):

figure the surface area and volumes for each figure; then compare.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

when comparing do we subtract? or divide for this type of problem. and also so we add the surface area and volume up for each rectangle then subtract?

OpenStudy (agl202):

the volumes are equal so its a toss between a and b. i get 112 for A and 104 for B

OpenStudy (agl202):

A is bigger then B in surface area

OpenStudy (agl202):

So what do u think?

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

B?

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

B seems like what you are describing

OpenStudy (agl202):

Yes, Good Job! :D

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Thank you! So much! I really do hope your answer is correct, i am so tired and my brain is so exausted that i cannot even think. Thanks again! :)

OpenStudy (agl202):

K, tell me what u get!

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Well, I literary just got the results back and it was C The surface area of A is greater than the surface area of B. But, ya know what thank you for trying :)
