What are the steps in finding the verticies and foci for ellipses?

OpenStudy (amoodarya):

write the equation in standard form like this \[\frac{ (x-\alpha)^2 }{ a^2 }+\frac{ (x-\beta)^2 }{ b^2 }=1\\if:a>b\\c^2=a^2-b^2\] so you can find c center is (alpha,beta) and center+ c ,center-c are foci
