A machinist creates a washer by drilling a hole through the center of a circular piece of metal. If the piece of metal has a radius of x + 10 and the hole has a radius of x + 6, what is the area of the washer?

@zepdrix My apologies for bothering you, but I must ask for a moment of your time.

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

you know the formula for area of a circle, so: 1) calculate Area of piece of metal : \(A_m\) 2) calculate Area of the Hole : \(A_h\) 3) then washer Area = \(A_m - A_h\)
