OpenStudy (dgregg272):

One end of the object rests on a support and the other is held by a string. The mass of the object is 1.2kg, the centre of gravity is point G with distance D and the tension in the string is 5.1N. The vertical component of the tension is 3.91N. The string is at an angle of 45 degrees with the vertical. Take moments about the support and calculate the distance of D. Any ideas, I'm lost? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I'm lost too. @radar How do you do this problem?

|dw:1433529981087:dw| We need to calculate the moments (or torques)!
