Just give me a sec...
OpenStudy (grimsnightmare):
I think it's your second option.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The answer is both 1 and 2. How did you get 2?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Oh i got it about 2 i think ethanol get dehydrated by h2so4 to give ethene and as its symmetrical it will oxidiese to give aldehyde i didn,t realise that it was symmetrical

I know the part where concentrated suplhuric acid dehydrates ethanol to ethene and i know that hydrigen bromide will react with ethene to give bromo ethane will sodium bromide react wuth ethene just like hydrogen bromide?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
KBr + h2so4 gives Hbr and Hbr reacts with ethyl alcohol to give ethyl bromide
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So NaBr reacts the same like KBr because they're in the same group right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ohh! I only studied the reaction of ethene with HBr so i got confused thankyou so much !!
