Someone help me with this?? Marcia can make 5 candles in an hour. Kevin can make only 4 candles in an hour, but he already has 7 completed candles. Explain to Marcia how she can use a system of equations to determine when she will have the same number of candles as Kevin.

It looks like you want to set up a ratio here. So 5/x represents Marcia and the "x" is unknown. Kevin is modeled by 4x+7. Keep in mind, he already had 7 to start with. When you cross multiply to solve, you are left with 16, because the x's cancel out. So they would produce the same amount of candles after 16 days. I hope that helps =)
