Flexibility and Independence are the two main things both the individual and the organizations get. Also there is the fact of a multicultural environment. Enough research has proved that when a team is formed of different backgrounds, the product is better. This is because of the diversity of ideas. The organizations will also win in spending less money. Paying a programmer in other countries will cost you 3 or 4 time less than hiring him/her at Sillicon Valley, for example. Other things I can think of * No/less office -> less costs * More talent/No Visa dependence * More productivity, sometimes.
