we know for sure that the scale factor of the dilation is increased by some number (that we must find) but not reduced. The dashed line triangle is bigger obviously.

the length (that crosses the x-axis) seems to have 9 on the left side and 7 on the right side. That equals 16. On the other hand, the small triangle has 4 units on the left and 4 units on the right along the x-axis. So the length of the small triangle is 8. 8*2=16 So, the scale factor of the dilation is increased by a factor of 2.
