What best describes the Supreme Court's decision in the Plessy v. Ferguson case? A. The Supreme Court ruled that segregation was illegal B. The Supreme Court ruled that “separate but equal” facilities were legal C. The Supreme Court ruled that women couldn’t hold office in Federal jobs

OpenStudy (surana):

That was definitely the second.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

US Supreme Court ruled that segregation in public education was unconstitutional.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In other words, Illegal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm

OpenStudy (surana):

Yes.

OpenStudy (surana):

It's B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

US Supreme Court ruled that segregation in public education was unconstitutional. That means segregation was declined and made ILLEGAL. Which choice is that?

OpenStudy (surana):

Plessy V Ferguson ended with them stating it was separate but equal, which was okay segregation wise, as long as the facilities were equal. Brown v Board of Education was the one that ended with segregation in a school being made illegal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They actually did rule that as constitutional, so Surana is right. :)

OpenStudy (surana):

:D
