@Hero

hero (hero):

What are your thoughts regarding this problem?

hero (hero):

@jaylelile

OpenStudy (jaylelile):

I know that it isn't A but I don't know how to continue eliminating more answers..

hero (hero):

How do you know that it isn't A?

OpenStudy (jaylelile):

When I talked to my teacher he said that it couldn't be A but he confused me as far as actually doing the problem. I don't know what steps I should be taking.

hero (hero):

What do you think the red arrow symbols mean?

OpenStudy (jaylelile):

no idea...

hero (hero):

the red arrows identify parallel line segments.

hero (hero):

The segment that intercepts the segments containing the arrows is the transversal.

OpenStudy (jaylelile):

But how to I go about finding x and y?

hero (hero):

I'm explaining it to you, but first we need to establish a basis for approaching this problem.

OpenStudy (jaylelile):

so the red means that it's the same on either side measurement wise?

hero (hero):

Not sure how to explain it without confusing you. There are two pairs of red symbols. One pair is the arrows that identify the parallel line segments, the other identify congruent angles.

OpenStudy (jaylelile):

I think you're kind of making sense...

OpenStudy (jaylelile):

Is option B correct? That's all that I can imagine is right..
