On a number line, which number would not be included as a solution to this inequality? Justify. -2.4 < n - 0.6 A) -1.8; -1.8 is not greater than itself B) -1; -1 is not greater than itself C) 0; 0 is not greater than 2 D) 2; 2 is not less than 0

OpenStudy (welshfella):

-2.4 < n - 0.6 add 0.6 to both sides -2.4 + 0.6 < n -1.8 < n write it from left to right:- n > -1.8

OpenStudy (welshfella):

this mean ' n is greater that -1.8' so which option do you think is not included in the inequality? for example 0 will be included because 0 is greater that 1.8

OpenStudy (friendzone):

this is so confusing im sorry lol

OpenStudy (welshfella):

- if we put n = 0 in the inequality 0 > -1.8 which is true so C is not the answer

OpenStudy (friendzone):

but its A

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes you are right because -1.8 .> -1.8 is not true (-1.8 = -1.8 )

OpenStudy (welshfella):

understand?
