can some one explain me Centripetal Force

Say you are playing on a merry-go-round

there is a force that is acting to move you away from the center, so you reach out and grab a hold of the bar. You stop moving away from the center. The force moving you has not been removed, but rather, you found a force to counter it.

When swinging on a swing, yo have a force that is pushing you out from the center of rotation, the force that is equal and opposite to that is the tension in the swings cables.
