Check my answers for a medal. Roxanne read 15 pages of her 150-page book in 2 hours. At this rate, how long will it take her to read the entire book? Would it be... 2 hours 5 hours 10 hours Or 20 hours? (I think it is 20 Hours...) @Elsa213 @mathman101 @brucebaner

Elsa213 (elsa213):

i think ur correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you give me more detail on this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Turn it into an equation: 150 = 15/2h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be 20 hours. Yes. If you read 7.5 pages an hour (half of 15) then you would read all 150 pages in 20 hours.

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

Every 15 pages takes two hours. Divide the total number of pages by 15 to find how many times she reads this amount, and then multiply that number by two hours.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*not equation but you can still use it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You guys are telling me it is 20, but when I do the equation @nuttyliaczar provided, I got 10, I'm confused.

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

Or you can do what Josh said and find how many pages she reads in one hour, which is half of 15 (7.5) and then divide 150 by 7.5

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

So yes 20 hours is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I get it... wait...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the 10 I got, multiplied with the 2 hours = 20 hours, Which is the total of how many hours read.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that would be how you would do it. The equation you could use would be as follows: 150 = 7.5 h where he represents how many hours. Divide 150 by 7.5 and you get 20.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where h* represents... :D

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

Yeah!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hope that helps! :D

My computer froze for a second, but thanks!
