It is about realization of existential truths, having an epiphany, opening your eyes, shattering of the illusion/s one lives in.
This topic is really broad, because a person can have innumerable different realisations about many aspects of life, so I can't really give you more directions, it is up to you and your perception of "epiphany" (and the literary work you have to discuss, if there is such). (e.g. you can write about the sudden realization that man is mortal; that complete happinness is unachievable and so on)
