Hey, can someone help me with this essay prompt. What are some ideas for an explicit thesis for the following prompt: Just need help getting started...
In his short story "Heart of Darkness," Joseph Conrad often uses contrasts−such as lightness and darkness−to reinforce his themes and ideas. Among the many contrasts included in the story are those describing the settings. As Marlow relates the story of his journey up the River Congo, he describes a number of different places he passes through on his way to the Inner Station. One of the most obvious contrasts is between Europe and Africa, but there are also clear contrasts between the different stations within Africa. For this Assignment, select two contrasting locations in "Heart of Darkness" and discuss how the contrast between these two places serves to reinforce themes and ideas within the novel as a whole. Be sure to avoid merely summarizing the plot
is this a literary analysis or a compare and contrast essay?
okay wait that's gotta be literary analysis... meaning analyzing what the story is about...not just write today I have to read ... ..... it was so ... lalal... the characters... looks like you have to do a setting literary analysis .
so you have to pick two places in the story and analyze them...
ok, thanks! Have you read this ?
sorry no... but I'm assuming you are in a course that picks the books for you, you have to read and understand, and analyze the daylights out of it right?
yuppp
When I used to be a fan of those courses, I pick the genre that's either interesting or easy. Science Fiction Literature was my favorite. British LIterature, although boring, was easy only because I've read 2 of the 4 books before, so the essays were easy.
What's strange though is that I scored all A's in the British Literature category while B's and A's for Science Fiction... crazy...it's from the same professor teaching it too
nice....
