MC)Which of these scenarios would be considered illegal in light of the provisions of the Fourteenth Amendment? Native American men were not permitted to vote for president in the election of 1868. African American people born in North Carolina were denied citizenship in the state and the country. Former officers of the Confederate Army were not permitted to run for office in Southern governments. African American children were given equal access to education just as white children living in Southern states.

On July 28, 1868, the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified. The amendment grants citizenship to "all persons born or naturalized in the United States" which included former slaves who had just been freed after the Civil War. So this would definitely be the answer...African American people born in North Carolina were denied citizenship in the state and the country. Because the 14th amendment should give citizenship to all born in the US Hope that helps!
