Well, first of all it would be stealing the other author's work and that is against the law. Second, of all it tells you reader that you have got that from a source. Getting it from a trustworthy source makes your informative/explanatory more credible. I'm pretty sure you can write sentences to explain why with these facts.

Basically, attempting to submit someone else's work and not giving them full credit can be rejected. It is immoral as well as illegal. You will always want to give citations, not only from using quotes, but from the sources as well.
