A line passes through (2, 8) and (4, 12). Which equation best represents the line? y = 1 over 2 x + 6 y = 2x + 7 y = 2x + 4 y = 1 over 2 x + 10

pooja195 (pooja195):

\[\huge~\frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2-x_1 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 4-2 then subtract 12-8

pooja195 (pooja195):

(x1,y1)(x2,y2)

pooja195 (pooja195):

Thats the slope formula we need to use to figure out what the slope is :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i dont understand how to plug it in i akready know the formula

pooja195 (pooja195):

Ok (x1,y1) right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

pooja195 (pooja195):

plug that much in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait so c was right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry im new to slopes haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i learned a short cut

pooja195 (pooja195):

@aloud explain your answer. By now you should know that direct answers arent allowed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright so u have 2,8 and 4,12 so u move 2 under 4 and subtract the and u get 2 the u put 8 under 12 and u get 4 y=2x=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean y=2x+4 lol
