How does the kinetic energy of a substance's particles in the solid phase compare to their kinetic energy in the liquid phase?
The kinetic energy of the solid and liquid phases is the same.
The particles have more kinetic energy in the solid phase than they do in the liquid phase.
The particles have less kinetic energy in the solid phase than they do in the liquid phase.
The kinetic energy of the substance's particles will depend on the volume of the substance.

The answer is C because in solid state solids have less kinetic energy but in liquid state they have more speed...due to comparatively less intermolecular forces..hope this helps

Since the answer has already been given here's just a word of advice. Solids usually have the lowest kinetic energy, then liquids, and gases usually have the highest. It all has to do with the movement of the particles. Hope that helped a bit :D So ya the answer is C
