OpenStudy (abhisar):

Wikipedia defines Cladistics as an approach to biological classification in which organisms are grouped together based on whether or not they have one or more shared unique characteristics that come from the group's last common ancestor and are not present in more distant ancestors. Same source defines phenetics as an attempt to classify organisms based on overall similarity, usually in morphology or other observable traits, regardless of their phylogeny or evolutionary relation. again the same source defines systematics as an attempt to understand the evolutionary interrelationships of living things, trying to interpret the way in which life has diversified and changed over time.
