Which best matches the plant tissue to its function? a) Vascular tissue transports materials from the environment into the plant. b) Dermal tissue produces and stores the plant’s food until it is needed. c) Meristem tissue uses energy from the sun to produce food for the plant. d) Ground tissue is the outermost plant tissue that prevents water loss. I keep getting confused for which one goes to which...

Try relating to them from an animal perspective. The uses are highly similar. What is our vascular system? Our Dermal tissue? We don't have the other ones exactly, but a meristem may be conceptually related to the growth point in our long bones that is responsible for bone growth during our development. Do you have a guess after thinking on it from this perspective?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It seems viable, our vascular system is something to do with carrying blood cells. Wouldn't it make sense for it to be A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tabbishawn Yes. The vascular system in plants transfers water and dissolved nutrients throughout plants (except for non-vascular plants).
