Cool...me too. I'm doing the MIT course for fun to learn python, been working my way through learn python the hard way as well and it has helped a lot. You have any questions as me and i'll try to answer as long as I can bounce some ideas off of you in return :)

Well, Python DOES have a really easy syntax and once you learn enough Python, you would be able to use "libraries", which are basically tools that you import from other sources or downloads, in order to perform special functions such as creating games with PyGame or creating apps with Kivy. If you have any questions, you can always ask us :)
