Just a question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you have 100% on one subject in language arts the other three have percenteges of 66%,24%,and72% what grade would you get in all?

OpenStudy (clobber02):

plz help me @zepdrix

OpenStudy (clobber02):

plz @zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hey Chi :) So I guess you're asking about average. 100 + 66 + 24 + 72 = 262 Dividing that by the number of grades gives us, 262 / 4 = 65.5 So a 65.5% is what you would be averaging. Hope that helps :)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

@CLOBBER02 please dont hijack other people's threads :o just do @zepdrix in your own thread. I'll try to come over there if i can find time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much but is that really the grade you would get?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

That's the grade you would get if they're all weighted exactly the same. If one was a test, two were lower valued like quizzes, then it would work out a little differently. Were they all valued the same? Like chapter tests or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no they are my language arts like composition is 100% Literature is 66% Grammer Ussage and Mechanics is 24% and Vocabulary is72%

zepdrix (zepdrix):

A 24 huh? :D boy thats rough lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know but thats all for language arts and im homeschooled so yeah

zepdrix (zepdrix):

oh ok c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

100+24+66+72=262 262/4=65.5%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

65.5% is correct. You add all of the percentages up, then divide them by however many percentages there are.
