solve this if a(powern)b(powern) then what is the valu of n?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyone solve this

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the question is not clear can you use 'draw' or 'equation' to write the expression more precisely?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

If I assume you have missed out an = sign then \[a ^{n}=b ^{n}\] Has to solutions: if a=b then it is true for all n if a/=b then you you can see that ANY number ^n is the same (because we don't know what a and b are) there is only one number n where \[x ^{n}\] has the same value for ALL values of x

OpenStudy (mrnood):

oops typo above ^^ "Has to solutions:" should be "Has two solutions:"

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

also if a = -b, n can be any even number
