If I assume you have missed out an = sign then

$$a ^{n}=b ^{n}$$

Has to solutions:

if a=b then it is true for all n

if a/=b then you you can see that ANY number ^n is the same (because we don't know what a and b are)

there is only one number n where $$x ^{n}$$ has the same value for ALL values of x
