What is the equation of the line that is perpendicular to -x + y = 7 and passes through (-1, -1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you put the equation in standard form (y=mx+b), m should equal 1. to find a perpendicular line, you need to multiply the slope by -1. Then go to the point (-1, -1) and draw a line that is perpendicular to the other line and wherever that line intercepts the y-axis, you get your y-intercept.
